"Abundant Life Ministries uses Second Harvest Gleaners as best as an agency can. ALM is one of the six largest users out of the 550 agencies in the 9 county areas around Grand Rapids. ALM was one of the first agencies to embrace the idea of preserving dignity and preventing waste by allowing clients to choose what they wanted instead of forcing them to take items they may not need or want. ALM make great use of our mobile food pantry, which is the cheapest way to draw food at the lowest cost available. ALM is exercising stewardship incredibly well with an average food cost of approximately 3 cents per pound. Of grant funds developed by the food bank, ALM returns the greatest value and best leverage of resources for our supporters. I don’t know of an agency that does it better than ALM. If all agencies would use us as ALM uses us eliminating hunger can be a reality. For us, partnership with ALM is a dream come true."
